Junior Tennis

W ith around a 120 members aged from 4 to 18 years, our junior section is thriving! We have a comprehensive coaching and social tennis program to suit all levels, from absolute beginners right up to tournament players. Junior tennis available all year round.

The Junior noticeboard, located inside the clubhouse contains all the information regarding teams, practices, social events and much more. Junior activities are provided for Mini-Tennis Players (age 4+) and Juniors (age 11-18).

Junior teams

Each year we enter boys and girls and mixed teams into the Junior North East Cheshire League, the LTA Aegon Junior League and the Point-One Junior Winter League. These teams provide opportunities for players between 9 and 18 who want to gain experience of match play against other clubs.

Junior tournaments

• Junior Club Tournaments are run all year round - These include Singles and Doubles Competitions for a variety of age groups

• External tournaments are available to our Junior members

• Junior tennis players with senior privileges will be invited to join selected Senior Club Tournaments

Junior Club Morning

• This is organised by the Club Coach on Saturdays throughout the year. The tennis is free to members and split into 3 different sessions:

• 9:45 - 10:30am - Under 10 yrs. Mini tennis skills and games for all abilities

• 10:30 - 11:15am - Under 13yrs. Organised drills, matches and games

• 11:15 - 12 noon - Under 18yrs.Organised drills, matches and games

Junior Club Nights

• This is a fun, sociable evening including organised tennis games and matches plus table tennis inside the clubhouse

• Our Club Coach runs the junior club night every Tuesday evening through the year

• 5.00 - 6.00pm for Under 13yrs

• 6.00 - 7.00pm for Under 18yrs

Coaching and holiday tennis camps

• Our resident Coach, Ben Bush, is responsible for all the coaching at DLTC. Ben is LTA Level 3 Qualified, DBS Checked (formerly known as CRB) and First Aid Trained

• Coaching is available all year round either in group squads or individual lessons

• Holiday Tennis Camps are open to non members as well as members of DLTC (there is a visitors fee to non members)

External Junior tennis activities

• This year DLTC will continue to kost the Local Inter School Tournament which is a qualifying event for the Stockport Schools Tennis Finals.

• Together with Stockport Schools Partnership, DLTC fund an outreach coaching programme at local schools to encourage children to get into Tennis in a fun environment

• DLTC currently has links with the following local schools:
